The "highlight" of 2011 was the day I became a mother to a corgi named Finnley.

Have You Lost Your Marbles?

Well find them and use them for this creative DIY project. I was surfing the web and found this simple, yet fun idea.

This blog, Garden Drama, talks about how they took an old washed out fence, and put an artsy spin on it. Simply drill holes to hold a marble and place marble inside hole. When the sun shines through... Voila! A simple easy way to add some magic to your garden.

New Item!

I put a new item in my shop. That bib I created an image for that I was telling you about. It turned out really cute.

In the mean time I've been painting more paintings to put in there. I'm trying to get it full, but it's hard to find a lot of time. I'm sure you can all relate. However while stumbling the other day I found this pretty headboard idea that I'd like to try when I move out.

Isn't it beautimus? I thought so too. So whimsical. Nice little craft project for myself.
It's been really rainy here lately. Great for some quality dog bonding time and AWESOME for getting some art done. What do you guys do on rainy days?

Eat, Drink, & Be Scary

I just designed a onesie and a bib using this graphic that I just illustrated. When I get them ordered, I will put them up on my site and they will be available for purchase!! Here's the image to get you excited!

I wanted to get in the spirit of Halloween. (I LOVE Halloween). I hope you guys like it! Cute I think.
Also I started the dreaded job of weight loss. I joined weight watchers the other day. I've done it before and had success but after going to college and such I needed to get back on the band wagon again. Has any one else found success with WW? I've also been watching The Biggest Loser, which I find very inspiring. I wish I could be on that show. Could really use a swift kick in the ass. I have a problem with tracking everything I eat and drink. I'm terrible at it. I should probably just buck up and try harder. Guess I should track these points for this wonderful hot chocolate I'm drinking out of my Frankenstein mug...

I painted him, isn't he cute? He makes coffee and hot chocolate that much MORE awesome. Well that's all I've got right now, but stay tuned for the release of those items in my store! To keep up to date on what I'm working on, following me on twitter.

Illustration Friday

It's been SOOO LONG since I've done an Illustration Friday piece. What better way to wet my brush than to start warming up on one of their topics. This week's topic was "Mesmerizing". With this illustration, I went with a girl mesmerized by a glowing ball of mystery. What secrets does this glowing ball hold? I don't know but it sure is Mesmerizing.... :]

Not much to report on the store front. I've been pretty busy lately, and unmotivated, but hopefully I'll get stuff done tomorrow. I've got Halloween themes running through my head so keep a look out :) Thanks for stopping by!

It's Been Awhile

It's been a long while actually. BUT! I'm back and hoping you're still with me. Let me catch you up. I left off right before I left for college for the 2nd time. For those of you who don't remember I attended my junior and senior year at Columbia College Chicago. I majored in Illustration and moved back home to the corn fields of Illinois. Soon after graduating, I became a mother of an adorable corgi puppy named Finnley. If you want to know more about him you can find his blog here. I got him in June and have been on a wild ride with him ever since.

You are probably wondering why I'm back after so long. After a long break from art, I decided to take a crack at it again. I'm working on opening up my Spontaneous Dots' shop on Etsy again. Instead of scrabble tile jewelry, I'm going to be featuring prints and other items with some artwork of mine. When I've completely opened it up, I'll be sure to let you know.

I'm really excited to be back. I'm happy to be back in my "studio" again. I am also excited to share stories of this crazy pup I have. He will be making the occasional appearance every now and then... like NOW!

He's great, you really should go to his blog and get to know him. You won't regret it. :]
